Population

Lahaul and Spiti district has a population of 31,528, almost equal to the country of San Marino, according to the 2011 census. It is now ranked 638th in India (out of a total of 640). The district has a population density of 2 people per square kilometer (5.2 people per square mile). Its population growth rate was -5.1 percent from 2001 to 2011. The sex ratio of Lahul and Spiti is 916 females per 1000 males, with a literacy rate of 77.24 percent.

Culture

Spiti Valley is a Buddhist research and cultural center. Ki Monastery and Tabo Monastery, one of the world's oldest monasteries and a favorite of the Dalai Lama, are highlights. It was the setting for the Indian films Paap and Milarepa, a biographical adventure tale about one of Buddhism's most famous Tibetan saints, which included breathtaking scenery and cinematography. The set was built around a Buddhist monastery in the valley, and some of the monks appeared in the film.

The few remaining Buchen Lamas of the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism live in Spiti's Pin Valley. The little hamlet of Manali served as the starting point for a historic trade route to Ladakh and then on to Yarkand and Khotan in the Tarim Basin via the Karakoram Pass.

Climate

Lahul and Spiti have a very cold environment throughout the winter months due to their elevation. Summer is a wonderful time. Electricity and transportation are frequently disrupted, and tourism is low during the frigid winter months. The Spiti valley, on the other hand, is accessible all year along the Old Hindustan Tibet road that connects Shimla and Kaza. However, the Lahul valley will not be accessible until June. However, from December to April, helicopter services are available at weekly intervals.Spiti's environment is too cold for even tundra vegetation to thrive, therefore much of the terrain remains desolate and wild. Even at lower elevations, temperatures going beyond 20°C during the summer months is a rare occurrence.

Day4 Kaza – Pin Valley – Kaza

Ready and Resume, resuming from Pin Valley.

The Pin valley features a collection of communities around the banks of the Pin River. Pin Valley is a beautiful valley in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul&Spiti district, formed by the Pin River, which travels through it before joining the Spiti River. The nature reserve "Pin Valley National Park" is also located in this valley. Though it is situated in Spiti, the Pin Valley environment is distinct from Spiti's, and its unspoiled beauty is highly remarkable.

We'd take you to the Pin Valley National Park, a cold desert nature reserve. The majority of people in the Pin Valley believe in Buddhism. You can stroll through the stupas here. The sound of quiet, huge meadows and encounters with birds such as Pika, griffon, raven, and others await you here. We will have a lunch break in Pin Valley's Mud settlement. The cab returns to Kaza in the evening.

Day5 Kaza to Tabo

After waking up on the fifth day, you will eat early in the day and then leave with us to travel to Tabo. Tabo village is a small settlement on the Spiti River. This settlement, founded in 996 A.D., contains a plethora of fantastic assemblages.

You grin and depart mesmerized after spending a valuable minute here. After that, you'll return to Kaza for lunch before heading to Dhankar Village for the second half of your adventure. Investigate the village by day and your inn at night. You can even take a brief walk to the adjacent market before returning to your room to recover.

The monks meditate in caves and cliff-like formations called chortens located above the Tabo monastery. The monastery complex consists of nine temples, 23 cave shrines, a monks' chamber, and an expansion that contains the nuns' chamber — each with its own name based on its function. The Archaeological Survey of India protects this historically significant site (ASI).

Day6 Kaza to Chandratal Lake

Be energized as the tour is not yet over.

On the sixth day, you should charge up a bit because we will be taking you to Chandartal Lake. Because of its shape, this location's name has been preserved. The stream is visible to the point where it appears to be a mirror. When you arrive, you will understand why this lake stands out among the rest of the world's lakes.

The routes to Chandratal Lake are open for about 4 months, from the third week of June to the first week of November. The greatest time to visit Chandratal Lake is in September, when there are many opportunities to see the flowering flora and wildlife, breathtaking topography, and clear blue skies.
